Locating Open Images
Sites like Google Images provide access to millions of images posted online, but many are not licensed for reuse or remixing. If you need an image to illustrate your educational material, check out the following sites offering openly licensed stock images.
If you're unsure where a image originated online, use a reverse image search engine like TinyEye Reverse Image Search.
- Disabled and HereA disability-led stock image series featuring disabled Black, Indigenous, people of color (BIPOC), published under Creative Commons attribution licensing.
- Free Nature StockA collection of nature-related stock photographs licensed CC0.
- nappyA collection of stock photographs featuring Black and Brown people, all licensed CC0.
- PexelsA collection of free to use and modify stock photographs.
- StocksnapA collection of stock images licensed CC0.
- UnsplashA collection of images, mostly photographs, available free to use.
